Pediatric dentistry
The Canadian Dental Association recommends that children start visiting the dentist at the age of one, or when their first tooth appears.
It is very important that the child visit the dentist in his childhood before he begins to have oral problems, this reassures the child and allows the dentist to examine his mouth. Oral hygiene instructions will be given to the parents.
Pediatric dentistry emphasizes preventive care (brushing, flossing, fluoride, sealing …).
An oral examination is recommended at least once a year for children, as for adults.
A soft and reassuring approach is always recommended to help the child not to be afraid. It is important not to share your phobia with your children!
Dental treatment for children help to keep good oral health and help prevent future problems with permanent teeth.
